Hitster Battle of the Generations is a musical party game in which players try to place 450 well-known hits in the correct chronological order. From classic songs from the 60s and 70s to popular hits from the streaming era: every generation is represented.
Players compete against each other to build their own musical timeline. Scan a music card with the free HITSTER app, listen to the song and determine which year it comes from. Then place the card in the correct spot in your timeline. The more cards you place correctly, the greater the challenge becomes.
The music cards are divided into different generation categories, including Vinyl Classics (1960–1979), Cassette Hits (1980–1999) and Streaming Era (2000–2025). This creates a varied mix of music from different eras and makes the game suitable for players of different ages.
The goal is simple: the first player to correctly place 10 music cards in chronological order wins the game. Thanks to the combination of music recognition, knowledge and a little luck, every round is different.
Hitster – Battle of the Generations uses the free HITSTER app in combination with Spotify to play the music clips. The app is available via the App Store and Google Play.
This Dutch version can be played on its own, but can also be combined with other Hitster editions for an even more extensive musical party experience.
