As the grandmother of the Ostheimer family, I enjoy spending time with the children or lending a helping hand around the house and with the animals.
Ostheimer "Grandmother" – a handmade wooden figure by the Ostheimer family. A pedagogically sound wooden toy that encourages children to play freely.
About Ostheimer:
Ostheimer is a traditional German toy brand that has been known for generations for its beautiful, handmade wooden figures. The company originated in the 1930s and is inspired by the Waldorf educational philosophy, which focuses on imagination, simplicity, and natural materials.
What makes Ostheimer so special is the craftsmanship: each figure is hand-cut, sanded, and painted in Germany. The soft shapes and warm colors stimulate children's imaginations and invite free play without fixed rules.
The figures are made from sustainable wood such as maple and ash and finished with non-toxic, water-based paint. This makes them not only safe for children, but also a conscious and sustainable choice.
Ostheimer toys are known for their timeless quality: each piece is unique and made to last for years, often even from generation to generation. In a world full of plastic toys, Ostheimer offers a calming alternative that invites children to create their own world of imagination.
